| A meeting was convened by the Honourable Minister for Home & Tourism on 30.03.2010 with the participation of the Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, the Honourable Minister for Finance, the Honourable Minister for Public Works Department and the Honourable Minister for the Welfare of Scheduled & Backward Communities & Electricity to discuss the various difficulties being faced by 'home stay' operators. In the meeting, among other things, it was decided to take suitable action to permit the installation of separate meters for the portion of the building in which home stay was operating. As per the circular dated 06.07.2007 read as 1st paper above, the houses where 'home stay' facility provided are directed to install submeter for the portion of building identified for accommodation of tourist. The consumption as per the submeter installed is to be charged at LT-VII A Commercial tariff. If submeter is not installed, the entire consumption shall be charged at LT-VII A. The Principal Secretary, Power Department has forwarded the minutes of the meeting vide the letter dated 01.06.2010 read as 2nd paper above to take action in accordance with the decision taken in the meeting held on 30.03.2010. Having examined the matter in detail vide the note of Chief Engineer (Commercial & Tariff) read as 3rd paper above, and as approved by the Board the following guidelines are issued for providing electric connection through separate meter for 'home stay' within the portion of the houses approved for the purpose. |
