 Scheme for reward to informants / Officers for detection of theft of energy - Clarifications  | |||
| Board had implemented a scheme for cash award to the informants (SRI), who give information leading to successful detection of theft of electricity and also to the officers, who detect theft of energy resulting in actual realization of additional income to the Board, vide order read as 1st paper above. The conditions for eligibility of the same were also incorporated in the Board order. Further, Board had approved certain guidelines for issuance of incentive to APT squad vide order read as 2nd paper above. It has come to the notice of the Board regarding the admissibility of the claims preferred by the APT squad that an ambiguity is existing on the amount to be considered as ‘additional income’ since the issuance of Board order dated 02.12.2006. The matter was brought to the notice of the Board for further clarification regarding the method of calculation of reward, and the payment limit of reward. After having examined the matter in detail, the Board hereby issues the following clarifications. (i) (i) The squad shall be eligible for reward if they detect power theft involving at least Rs.7 Lakhs per month, but reward shall be sanctioned only on the basis of the amount fully settled and collected, after disposing the appeal of the consumer, if any. |
