Kerala State Electricity Board is committed to serve the consumers and try our best to meet the consumers’ expectations. The Board had constituted Consumer Grievance Redressal Forums at Kottarakkara, Ernakulam and Kozhikode to redress the grievances of consumers. Though these forums are redressing the grievances of consumers to a great extent, Board, with a view to serve its valued customers, occasionally conducts Adalaths, for speedy redressal of the complaints, including cases of frequent supply interruptions and low voltage. These Adalaths are found successful in redressing grievances of the consumers and the public. The Board also conducts Adalaths for achieving speedy and effective settlement of long pending cases on revenue arrears and a large number of cases were settled. Board has introduced a special scheme to settle long pending arrears of EHT, HT and LT consumers for the period from July 2012 to October 2012 subject to certain condition. After remittance of the principal amount in lump sum, the penal interest will be reduced to 3% only for reopening/for final settlement of closed industrial units. For other consumers the rate applicable will be 5%. In case the principal amount is paid in installments, the penal interest will be 6% in the case of reopening. / for final settlement of closed industrial units while it will be 9% for other consumers. In case of the unit is intending to be reopened, reconnection will be effected only after payment of the 50% of the principal amount. Interest will have to be remitted within one month of the payment of principal amount if paid in lump sum. If installment facility is allowed, interest has to be remitted along with installments and default of further installments will lead to disconnection of service.
