| Government vide its order read as 1st paper notified the following blocks as notified areas with effect from 19th day of November, 2005 in exercise of the powers conferred by Sub Section (1) of Section 6 of the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002. Athiyannur Thiruvananthapuram District Kodungalloor Thrissur District Chittoor Palakkad District Kozhikode Kozhikode District Kasargode Kasargode District The District Officer, Ground Water Department, Kasargode requested to insist for the permit issued from Ground Water Authority while effecting electric connection to open wells/bore wells coming within territory of notified area as per Section 7 of Kerala Ground Water (Control & Regulation) Act 2002. The Chief Engineer (Distribution North) has requested clarification on the matter. The Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission clarified that KSE Board can issue directions to its field officers that the permit issued from Ground Water Authority is a statutory clearance required for providing electric connection to open wells/bore wells coming within the territory of notified area and this is in line with the proviso of Clause 6 (1) of the Kerala Electricity Supply Code 2005. |
