| BEFORE THE KERALA STATE ELECTRICITY REGULATORY COMMISSION IN THE MATTER OF: Proposals for revising the tariff for ‘Railway Traction’ And IN THE MATTER OF: Kerala State Electricity Board Vydyuthi Bhavanam, Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 004 The petitioner named above respectfully submits as under: 1. Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) is the deemed distribution licensee for supplying electricity in the State of Kerala. As per the provisions of the Electricity Act-2003 and National Electricity Policy & Tariff policy notified under section-3 of the Electricity Act-2003, KSEB has to function on commercial principles. 2. KSEB has been supplying electricity to the railway for traction at the EHT tariff. However, ToD tariff is not made applicable to them. The prevailing tariff for railway traction with effect from 01-12-2007 is as given below. Table-1 Prevailing Railway Traction tariff w.e.f 01-12-2007 Demand Charge Energy Charge (Rs/ kVA/ month) (Rs/ kWh) 245 2.90 3. The above revision was made by the Hon’ble Commission during the year 2007-08 considering the average cost of power purchase, overall cost of supply and revenue gap of KSEB based on the ARR & ERC order for the year 2007-08. |
