KSEB award contracts for RGGVY works in Malabar Districts

The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has decided to award contract for works costing Rs.22.5 crore in connection with the Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Vydhyuthikaran Yojana in Kozhikode and Malabar districts. The project to set up 163 transformers and allied facilities costing Rs.12.33 crore is expected to provide power to 11,920 people in the BPL category in Kozhikode district. In Wayanad district, it has been proposed to install 119 transformers for Rs.10.27 crore to supply power to 6,416 BPL customers. In Kannur, work has begun to install 283 transformers at a cost of Rs.19.71 crore.
A meeting of the KSEboard at Thiruvananthapuram on 06-11-2010 has decided to award the contract to execute the civil works of the 7.5-MW Anakkayam hydro-electric power project to a Mumbai-based company.The meeting decided to award the works costing Rs.54.93 crore to the company. The project, expected to generate 22.83 MU, will come up on the banks of the Chalakkudy river.
